I’m not a big fan of going out of your way to earn a few dollars, which is why I’ve stayed away from the Swagbucks craze. In that system, you earn points for searching and performing other actions, and you can cash out your points for a gift card once you’ve got enough of them.
If you’ve got time on your hands and don’t mind using their search engine, maybe it’s a good fit for you. However, I’ve recently found a few ways to earn some free credit without doing much work at all. It’s passive income in the truest sense.
Earn Credit Toward Gift Cards and Movies
Check out Bing’s rewards program, which similar to Swagbucks, lets you earn points for gift cards and other offers. You can earn up to 15 points a day for searching Update: 25 points a day if you use mobile, too! (I seem to be hitting it daily), and every day there are opportunities to earn a few other points just for going to the page and clicking on that day’s offers.
With the amount you earn a free movie at Redbox every week, or a $3 Amazon.com credit every 3 weeks. If you wait it out, a $5 Amazon.com credit could be yours about once a month. Update: With 25 points a day, it takes just 3 weeks to earn the $5 Amazon.com credit.
So how’s it different and better than Swagbucks? Good question!
You Don’t Even Have To Use Bing!
I think my favorite part about this is that you don’t need to actually use Bing to search. I’m sure you’ve all seen the Bing vs. Google ads, but I’ve never actually found anyone who prefers Bing to Google. Update: The plugin has been removed. You can use Pogocheats.net, which does all the work for you, automating Bing searches and earning you points. And the workaround is using a chrome plugin called Bingo, which, every time you search in Google, replicates your search in Bing. So while you use Google all day long, you’re racking up points as if you were using Bing. You can check your rewards every once in awhile and boom, you’ve earned some free credit to enjoy for free.
Other Ways To Earn Money Effortlessly
I’m no fool and I don’t think this is going to replace your day job (or your side job), but it is as close as you can get to truly being free, and that’s why I took advantage of it.
If you’re interested in finding other ways to earn money without doing any work, check out The Penny Hoarder’s post about how to make $295/year by installing 2 apps. I’m not sure I want someone tracking my every (online) move, but it sure is tempting since it requires absolutely no work.
I’m really suprised they haven’t found a way to disable the hack. It seems like that would be something they would want to fix if people can collect the rewards without actually using their search engine. That said, I was poking around and it looks like you can combine bing and swagbucks to make the points go a little farther. The same amout of points to get a $5 amazon card will get you 500 swagbucks and 450 swagbucks will net you a $5 amazon gift card. So if you cash that in 9 times, you’ll get a 10th for free. Clearly it’s not going to get you much but it is an easy way to get a little more for doing nothing.
O yah, I remember seeing that but forgot to make a note of it for later, thanks for the reminder! Why not take the extra step in order to make your not-so-hard-earned rewards go a little bit farther?
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I just signed up with your link and earned my 15 points for the day (plus 20 for signing up). I like that you can do searches back to pack and earn points for every two (Unlike swagbucks where you don’t earn with every search).
