Making money online is becoming more and more popular. And there’s no wonder why. You can start a viable online career for little to no money and do it in your spare time. I started this blog when I was bored at my first job, and I’ve enjoyed it immensely.
It does time and hard work to make money online but if you are persistent and patient you will find success. In case you wondering what the best ways to make money online are, I’ve got five for you.
1. Start a Blog
Anybody with a computer, internet, and $100 can start a blog. You can actually get a blog up and running for less than $30 if you put in the research to find cheap domain names and hosting.
Blogs have the capability of bringing in decent money but they take time to develop. It usually takes bloggers around six months to one year before they earn their first $100.
However, with time, blogs have the potential to bring several thousand dollars per month.
2. Start a YouTube Channel
YouTube is the second most popular search engine, trailing right behind Google. Many people have nixed their cable subscriptions and now look online for their entertainment. This has made YouTube a success.
Absolutely anyone with an internet connection and webcam can create a YouTube channel. Popular YouTube channels are then monetized with advertisements from companies.
If you are the creative type and have an entertaining story or series to share you could be a YouTube Success.
3. Freelance Write
Freelance writing is another online business that many are trying to break into.
More and more businesses are looking online to find their customer bases and this trend will continue to increase in the future. The businesses who are setting up their online platforms need content. That content is often created by freelance writers.
Freelance writing success depends upon the rates the writer charges and how persistent the writer is about finding jobs. I wrote for WiseBread for awhile, but I didn’t get the job simply because I had a blog. I asked if I could write a guest post, I wrote a killer post (that I sort of regretted not posting here), and since the post was popular, they asked me to become part of their team!
4. Become a Virtual Assistant
With blogs being created at hundreds per day and businesses looking to gain traction in the online world, virtual assistants are in high demand.
Virtual assistants help businesses large and small with social media, SEO (search engine optimization), handling email, and customer service, just to name a few.
There are many uses for virtual assistants today.
5. Create eBooks
If you love to write but don’t like the idea of maintaining a blog or writing for someone else creating your own eBook is a great alternative.
It’s very simple to self-publish your own eBook. Once you have your book created you can upload your eBook to a variety of platforms such as Amazon’s Kindle program, Good Reads, or LuLu.
You will have to actively market your eBook for it to become monetarily successful but once you get the hang of it you can create an unlimited amount of eBooks.
A Few More Ways To Make Money Online
Making money online isn’t just limited to these five ways. There are a plethora of opportunities available to earn money online.
Here are a few more:

These are all great ways to make money online. I’ve been thinking about creating an ebook and will probably do that soon. It just seems like a lot of work for the time being! :)
